5. Responsible Market Surveillance Authority
For Germany:
To fulfil the tasks of the Accessibility Reinforcement Act, the federal states are currently setting up a joint body.
The Market Surveillance Authority of the Federal States for the Accessibility of Products and Services (MLBF) is expected to start operating as a new public-law institution on 28 June 2025 in Saxony-Anhalt, in the state capital Magdeburg. This is subject to the ratification of the interstate treaty for the implementation of the Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG) by all federal states. All states are currently creating the necessary conditions for this.
